UP-COMING EVENTS:

MASTER CARVER, Felipe Horta Tera will be featured at Artistic Mystic Gallery
on Friday evening, November 7th from 5-9 PM.  A visiting artist from  Michomocan, Mexico, Felipe is a second generation mask carver who produces exquisitely executed and detailed collectibles.  Please visit and meet with him to appreciate his talent and skill.  Folk Art Carvings from Oaxaca will be featured at very reasonable prices.  All are welcome!!!

DECEMBER 13, 2008 

Artistic Mystic Gallery will host it's First Annual Reception of student art from the BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB of Scottsdale.  Representing four regions, two from the Salt River Reservation, the students range in age from 8 to 14 years of age.  Joseph Wolves Kill, mentor and teacher, has worked with the clubs for eight years and has seen the students develop and evolve with their artistic skills.   Acrylic paintings will be available for sale beginning at $35.  Proceeds will benefit the students directly.   The students and their families will be present at the reception of Saturday, December 13th from 6-9 PM.  This event is open to the public and a great opportunity to support local youth and their passions for art.

Dia de Los Muertos or a Celebration of Life will continue on exhibit through November 15th.  A traditional celebration of Mexico, Central and South America, it is a festive day to remember the beloved ancestors who have departed from this life.  Special food, music, and decorations are all part of the event.  Community artists will exhibit their art and Mexican Folk Art will be available as mementos for those  who  collect.  Felipe Horta Tera, a second generation Mask Carver, will be visiting with  his unique wares from Mexico.  Please join us for a very special event featuring this artist on Nov. 7th!  

Professional matting and framing services have been added to Artistic Mystic.   Shirley Ryan will be available 2 days per week to offer her expertise and advise on affordable presentations at conservative prices.  Please plan in advance to have those family treasures and collectibles framed as Holiday Gifts!!
